Great Northern Docks 15-5 Limited Warranty for DuraLITE, FeatherLITE, and Aluminum Stairs. Great Northern Docks, Inc. warrants all Great Northern Docks built aluminum frame docks and stairs purchased new by the original owner to be free from defects in the aluminum structure and welds for a period of (15) years from the delivery date under normal and proper use in accordance with instructions resolved by Great Northern Docks.

A five-year warranty applies to polyethylene floats, and the remaining components (excluding fasteners and components which carry their own manufacturer’s warranty, wherein that warranty will apply).

Great Northern Docks does not warranty cedar decking against deterioration. Great Northern Docks does not warranty aluminum against discoloration, scratching or denting. Moderate corrosion may occur in salt or brackish water environments. The warranty does not cover cosmetic appearance.

Bolts, fasteners, and pipe may need to be replaced periodically and are not covered under warranty. It is imperative to replace set screws if they become corroded, and to grease all set screws twice a year with marine grease or never-seize. Failure to do so will void the warranty on the corner sockets. Allowing the dock to remain submerged will void the warranty. The warranty for floating docks and hinges does not apply to rough waters with waves over 12 inches high. All decking panels must be stored horizontally on a flat surface for the warranty to remain in effect. All aluminum frames must be stored top side up in winter months in order for the warranty to remain in affect (avoids pooling and freezing of water). This warranty does not cover damage caused by improper use, installation, overloading, accident, neglect or harmful alterations or repairs made by others, damage by snow or ice, electrolysis, severe weather conditions and acts of nature.

Great Northern Docks will at its option, repair or replace (f.o.b. Factory, Naples, Maine), free of charge, or allow credit for any such products as returned by the customer to the factory in Naples, Maine, and found by Great Northern Docks to be defective under normal use and service, provided Great Northern Docks is notified in writing within 30 days upon discovery of such defects. The customer’s remedies with respect to defective products shall be exclusively limited as above provided and in no event shall Great Northern Docks or its dealers be liable for incidental or consequential damages of any nature. All repair work must be done by Great Northern Docks. In no event shall recovery of any kind against Great Northern Docks be greater than the purchase price of the product sold by Great Northern Docks or an authorized dealer.

Without limiting the foregoing, the purchaser assumes all risk and liability for loss, damage or injury to persons, animals or property arising out of use or misuse of, or inability to use the Great Northern Docks product. Great Northern Docks is not responsible for third party claims. Unless otherwise noted, this warranty agreement is the only warranty agreement between the parties and all other agreements to warranty stated or implied are hereby disclaimed. It shall be the responsibility of the purchaser to check all state and local laws, codes, and obtain permits needed for compliance before installation of Great Northern Docks products.
