You can buy our concrete anchors at our location in Naples Maine or you may have them shipped on a trailer truck with your entire dock but shipping them alone is very costly. The good news is…you can make your own with the same galvanized rebar we use and save on the freight cost.
Make a 2’x2′ form with 2×6 lumber and fill it with concrete. Stick this rod in the wet mix with the middle angle sticking out from the cement.
The angle will give you a place to connect the chain with a 3/8″ shackle or bigger.
Anchor will weigh around 285 lbs.
A round anchor will roll around so it is not recommended.
In some conditions, more than one anchor should be chained together.
For boat moorings on mud or sand lake bottoms, a mushroom anchor will dig into the ground for better holding strength.
